Here is some useful information for you to remember.

* We kindly ask that all children bring in a healthy snack each day for break times.

* Reading books will be given out every Friday and will need to be returned to school every Monday.

* PE will be on Tuesday afternoons, please can you ensure that sensible footwear and clothing is worn to school on this day.

 

 

Spring Term Topics

 

Humanities - Under The Canopy. In this topic we will be learning all about the Rainforest. 

Science - Down in the Woods. A topic about habitats and lifecycles of animals found in woodland areas. 

Welsh - Anifeiliad Anwes. We will be learning about pets and animals, where they live and what they do in Welsh. 

RE - Journeys, Listening & Sharing, Giving All.

Autumn Topic - A World Of Pure Imagination

 

This term we have been reading Roald Dahl books, especially Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We have learnt a lot about Chocolate and how it is made. We learnt about cocoa farming, Fair Trade and why it is important. We also learnt about the history of chocolate in Britain. We have had so much fun with this topic and have definitely enjoyed tasting lots of delicious chocolate! 

RE: Homes

 

We have enjoyed our RE topic 'Homes'. We have thought about the big question, 'What makes a house a home?' Article 14.

Go Green For CAFOD!

 

We enjoyed going GREEN for CAFOD this autumn. We have learnt about CAFOD's work all around the world trying to help the environment, made our own green pledges and raised lots of money for CAFOD. Article24.

Diwrnod Shwmae

 

We enjoyed celebrating Diwrnod Shwmae by speaking lots of Welsh in class and celebrating being able to speak the Welsh language. Article 30

Remembrance Day

 

We made our own poppies and had a class remembrance service to remember all the people and animals who have lost their lives in war. We will remember them. Article 19

Odd Socks for Anti Bullying

 

We wore our odd socks to kick start Anti Bullying Week 2021 where we learnt about the importance of using kind words to help put a stop to bullying. Article 19.

Children in Need 2021!

Tomorrow's Engineers Week

 

We became engineers for the week as we were set a special mission by Willy Wonka himself. We had so much fun designing, building and testing our inventions to help the Oompa Loompas get across the chocolate river in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Article 29.

Christmas 2021

 

We have taken part in many Christmas activities this year to prepare for and celebrate the season. We wore our Christmas jumpers to celebrate Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day 2021. We made Christmas cards, calendars, gift bags and baubles. We had a delicious Christmas dinner, exciting trip to the cinema and a fantastic Christmas party. Nadolig Llawen pawb! Article 31.

Spring Term Mini Topic - Under the Canopy

This half term we have been learning all about the rainforest. We had visits from many experts to teach us all about life in the rainforest, rainforest animals and dangers in the rainforest like deforestation. We have had so much fun with this topic and really enjoyed it. 

Dress to Express for Children's Mental Health Week

Plantasia Trip!

To end our topic 'Under the Canopy' about the Rainforest we visited Plantasia in Swansea to have a real life rainforest experience, we had a great time.

Go Green for CAFOD

We wen't green for CAFOD again this Lent and have pledged to walk for hunger. 

Joseph Parry's Cottage Trip

As part of our topic 'Ble mae cartref?' we went on a trip to Joseph Parry's cottage. We saw features and objects of homes from the past and compared them to our homes now. We were amazed that Joseph Parry was born in the bedroom of the house and that 12 people lived in the small house. 

Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month

We wore green and donated money to raise awareness for Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month this March.

Interviewing Mayor Colbran

Today we had the wonderful opportunity to ask our questions about Merthyr Tydfil to the mayor or Merthyr in our very own interview. Article 12.
