Croeso i dosbarth un!
Summer Term 2020!
Welcome back everybody! I hope you had a wonderful Easter. I will set your weekly activities using the Seesaw app so remember to log on regularly to complete them. Below, I have included some different resources and activities you can do alongside the Seesaw app!
Start your day in a fun, active way by logging on to Joe Wicks fitness workout or cosmic kids yoga! These are great physical activities for children! Try to make the most of the fresh air throughout the day by spending time in your garden or on a walk with family (remember to always stick to government guidelines)
At school, we follow the Read Write Inc scheme. Ruth Miskin who founded the scheme upload daily sessions to their YouTube channel which children can take part in. This is a great way to keep practising those sounds! Nursery should complete speedy sounds set 1 and Reception speedy sounds set 2.
-Use chalk, foam, pencils, paint etc to practise forming the letters. You can use your sounds sheet in your workbook to help with this. In school we usually take a sound a day!
- In Reception we focus on beginning to blend our sounds together to make a word. For example, C A T makes cat! Encourage your child to read simple CVC words by ‘Fred talking’ each sound and blending the sounds together. I have included a link to all the green words we use in RWI. Start at word time 1, practice reading and spelling each word with your child. When they can do this confidently without support you can move on to the next word time

-Oxford Reading Owl have fantastic resources for you to access. The online tool enables you to access e books linked to the Oxford Reading Tree Scheme and it also includes RWI books. You need to join but it is free of charge. The website link is below. Copy and paste it into the browser.
Ensure children practice counting and recognising numbers to 10 (nursery) 20 and above (reception)
Top marks is a fantastic website the children can use to play different maths games
Mathletics is also available for reception children with their logins.
