Rights Respecting Ambassadors

St Illtyds is proud to be a Rights Respecting School at Bronze status. We work hard to place the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of our ethos and curriculum. Our Rights Respecting Ambassadors promote children's rights and all of our adults and children work together towards promoting and realising children's rights too. Meet our Rights Respecting Ambassadors:

Rights Respecting School Silver Accrediation

During Autumn term, we will be assessed to achieve the Silver award, in order to do this we need to make sure that we are all being Respectiful and Responsible pupils to become Rights Aware. We would normally be holding assemblies at the beginning of each month to celebrate our 'Right of the Month', but unfortunately we aren't able to do this during assembly time. We have met with Mrs Minett and our school council to find a way around this and we have decided to celebrate our RoM virtually with a PPT shared with your teachers. We hope you enjoy and keep on trying hard to be rights respecting.

Rights Respecting Ambassadors

Our Rights Respecting Ambassadors held a competition during Autumn Term 2018 to design and create a Rights Respecting mascot to represent us as a Rights Respecting School. The winning entry was:

Meet Bright and Right our Rights Respecting mascot. They believe that each child in the world has equal rights. Respecting our rights today  would mean a bright and right future.

Throughout the year we will be celebrating a 'Right of the Month' where we will learn about that right and celebrate our Duty Bearers and Rights Holders of the month during celebration assembly.

Here is a table of our Rights of the Month.
